From all those events of '89-91 I remember only Soviet tanks in Vilnius in '91

I watched the tagesschau news report when I was at the army and stayed at the OSH in Hannover. We spontaneously made a party and watched was was going on at the wall on TV. I was worried that night, what will happen the next day and switched on the TV even when I awoked.

I was 11 years old. Whilst I cannot remember the specifics I was certainly aware of it....... and the news stories of the borders being opened a few days before (with people flooding to the west).

I knew darn well it was significant.

1989 was the year I graduated high school and started college. The Tiananmen Square Massacre happened around the time of my graduation ceremony. I was a freshman living in a dorm when the wall came down.
