Maunsell Forts

When I was in Kent over the weekend, a group of us went out on a boat to see these WWII off-shore forts that were built in the Thames estuary to protect shipping lanes from German bombers. They're quite eerie now, but worth seeing if you're in the area.

The collection that I went out to see was the "Shivering Sands" set.

I remember reading about the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Sealand"]"Principality of Sealand"[/ame] a few months ago. I never knew that these forts existed.

Thanks for bringing this up!
