Could it possibly be Hungarian? The facial features of the sculpture resemble those of the Magyar Mongols.

Can you show other images of "Magyar Mongols" (sic) that looks similar to this? I havent seen any even slightly resembling statue from Hungary, actually dont know about any pre-Christian Magyar sculpture finding. I would vote to something further east. Cumans had a developed tombstone art but this doesnt resemble to them either in style: Lugansk Stone Sculpture Park. Stone sculptures park in Lugansk | | |

Stone sculptures park in Lugansk | Well, I am just judging the statue off its facial features and the threads title, "European Culture Pop Quiz." Therefore, since The Magyars were Mongols who entered Europe, I assumed that was the origin of the statue. To be honest, I haven't seen a pre-Christian Magyar statue either! Haha. To what I have been exposed to regarding the Magyars [concept art], the statue kind if looks like them! Just a guess though, might be further East like you said! http://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk...%20Cavalry.JPG | Magyars were not Mongols. the Hungarian language belongs to the Uralic (Finno-Ugric) language family and the Magyar alliance was a mixed Uralic-Turkic (with some Iranian influence). Racially they were also mixed population with Asian admixture in it, but "Mongoloid"=/=Mongol people. :P
