Please give me some advice for a christmas present - Historum

Hello,
My brother has recently talked about how he'd like to read a history book from another country to see what their views are on world events. Also how they view America. I'd like to get him something like this for christmas but am having trouble finding one. If you can give me any advice please do. All is appreciated.

Not in time for Christmas this year and not quite what you` re looking for. But I enjoyed a book by a British journalist "The Road to Kandahar". The writer is a guy called Jason Burke. It describes his experiences as a reporter in the Middle East. I think that he` d enjoy it.
