It's true,Blonde hair and pail skin was the norm back then.Women use to wear really white make up to make them selfs as white as possible.

Don't worry Lucius,Dark hair and darker skin is more class as sexier than being pail and blonde hair.Things change over time.

I wonder what the Saxons of the 6th century really looked like? I dont really think that they were all blonde hair and blue eyed people. Im thinking that they were just a cross section of the people that we see in Northern Europe of today. But I am not sure. Any ideas?

Being pale is no longer in style, but I don't think blond hair has ever gone out of style...

On average, i say the northerners were rich, because they had alot of gold mines. So much so that cesar when on an excuse to go to war with them. Rome on the other had was beautiful. Actually,back in those days, bigger women with bigger buttocks were much more prefered.
These days it's skinny women and with tiny buttocks are more prefered.

Are you sure it is not the MTV effect? I highly doubt fat women were considered desirable in the roman/greek times. They never made any statue of fat women, so it is highly unlikely fat women were desired back in the day. Troy was a skinny woman, and not fat.

I do think the status of women were quite high in pre-historical times. They had a fertality god which is a fat lady made of polished rock.

For some reason, italian girls have the best looking ass in europe. The nordic girls have small asses, but tone body, and that is good. The best of german engineering! You know, the thing about ass is that it is soooooo nice to slap it. Have you ever slap a fat ass before? Have anyone slap your ass? Don `t answer, because i know it is good.
