Historical sites in Northern Italy?

I know there are countless sites to visit, which is part of my problem. I've got about 4 days to fill on my trip in Northern Italy. I'll be in Genoa and have to be in Milan 5 days later but I don't mind traveling to see something incredible. Any suggestions? I have been to Venice and Florence before. Seeing the Sacra di San Michele earlier in the trip and the Last Supper before I leave Milan to give you an idea of the kind of places I find interesting. Looking for any and all suggestions. If you loved it, let me know. Thanks. Sorry if this is not the right forum for this kind of solicitation.

Consider the Romanesque art and architecture of northern Italy, if art and/or architecture is of interest to you.

Sites of battlefields?

How about the site of one of the bloodiest battle in history - Hannibal's devastating victory over a huge Roman army at Cannae?
