i dont think its POSSIBLE to label JUST ONE human being as the most influential in history. but if i were to elect candidates, i would say Martin Luther King Jr., his namesake Martin Luther, and Ghandi; theyre the only ones that come to mind at the moment

I enjoyed both editions of Hart's book. One fact that I remember is that Scotsmen are represented in the lists out of porportion to their population.

At Partition, Gandhi and his ahimsa were both dropped like a rock by all parties, in favor of mob violence and murder.

Within the bounds of living memory, Mohammad Ali (Casius Clay) and John Lennon were declared the most influential people of our time. Sad but informative commentary.

| I couldn't name a single person. Though Mr. Hart's list is off, in my view. Any list that has Abraham Lincoln as a runner-up to John Kennedy is just plain goofy.
