Yeah he was definitely a nutjob...most of the Roman Emperors were a fairly detestable lot, some good ones but largely awful people.

Marrying your cousin....

While marrying your 13-year-old cousin may have been somewhat standard in the 1800s, it was certainly not acceptable in 1957, when rock ‘n’ roller Jerry Lee Lewis married his cousin Myra, 13.

I think of this and I say to myself "goodness gracious great Balls of fire"

The more I look at this picture the more Jerry Lee Lewis looks like a proud Papa.

Totally bonkers! Juana of Castile (aka Joan the Mad)

... and with all that inbreeding who wouldn't be

She was obsessed with her husband even after his death. I'm quoting here ... "even caressing his rotting corpse which she brought with her on a tour of Spain in the 1500s "... oh man! what a lunatic!

Yes, all of the above - and to add insult to injury Claudius also suffered from partial paralysis and limping .... but all and all he was a better man, not as demented as the rest of the roman emperors, as everybody knows here.

That's interesting. I know when we studied him in school a month or so back his death was mentioned but never how or why he died.

There's even speculation that Lewis was murdered, just made to look like suicide.

I would like to propose the Archduke Charles, Duke of Teschen. His epilepsy did not prevent him to fight very fiercely Napoleon and to be a torn in his foot.
