Beautiful map Naima.

When making a map one needs to start with real geography.

The earth's rotation causes the wind. The prevailing wind on our planet is from the West. This wind blows land masses with it -the reason the West coast of America is so small. There is never much land in the direction of the prevailing wind and what there is exists because of mountain ranges which pin down some of it.

Mountains are the covering of the cracks separating the plates making up the earth. The younger the crack the more volcanic activity and earth quakes there are and the higher the mountains.

Water always flows from a high place to a lower one and always follows the soft land -hard rock will force it to move around it. When drawing rivers be sure to make lots of right angle turns.

The earth going through alternate ice ages and warm ages. When the glaciers retreat they leave behind numerous lakes and swamps.

Be sure to use climate zones: jungle zone; deciduous tree zone; conifer tree zone; taiga zone (scrub); glacial zone.

Cities will be around 3 days travel from each other.

[Yay!, can type again and so nice to have a mechanical keyboard again.]
