How about Giorgios Hajianestis, the Greek commander in the 1921 war with Turkey, a courtier who refused to leave his yacht instead of leading the war , probably better in a way since he used to lie perfectly still pretending to be dead for long periods and when he wasnt refused to move because he believed his legs had turned to glass and would shatter.
