Exclamation Which is the most influential text written in human history..

O.K so I thought that this would be interesting....

I know that this is a highly subjective topic but lets try...

So which text is the most influential text of history?

For me it goes like this :

Historically (uptill now!)

1- The Bible
2- The Qur'an
3- Greek Philosophers' texts (Republic/Politics etc)

Today (as we speak!)

1- The Qur'an
2- Greek Philosophers' texts (Republic/Politics etc)
3-The Bible

The future (ultimately what will happen in terms of influence!)

1-Greek Philosophers' texts (Republic/Politics etc)
2- The Qur'an
3- The Bible

I know there are many , many other texts ... So what you say?

It depends on what type of influence you are referring to. You may try to add a poll in your thread next time so you have statistics. To me it would be the Rosetta Stone:

This tablet contains 3 different languages all on the same stone:
  1. Greek
  2. Egyptian Hieroglyphics
  3. Demotic Scripts
If the Rosetta stone was not found and decyphered we wouldn't know much about ancient Egyptian writing, religion, culture etc.

In the West, but hardly in the East..

In India, perhaps the Vedas or the Mahabharata,(especially the Gita)

In China perhaps the Tao Te Ching ,The Annals Of Confucius and writings of Mencius,or even "The Art Of War"
