It was owing in a great measure to his dauntless courage and inspiring example that a serious reverse was averted. He displayed the utmost energy and courage in forcing our attack home. After three other battalion Commanders had become casualties, he controlled their commands, and ensured that the ground won was maintained at all costs. He frequently exposed himself in the organisation of positions and of supplies, passing unflinchingly through fire barrage of the most intense nature. His gallantry was inspiring to all.[8]

Churchill resumed his commission after Poland was invaded. In May 1940, Churchill and his unit, the Manchester Regiment, ambushed a German patrol near L'Epinette, France. Churchill was said to be unhappy with the sudden end of the war, saying: "If it wasn't for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years."[9]

defintly Adrian Carton de Wiart would beat jack churchill, I think the name "mad jack" is right, he seems a little crazy.

Dont know what to say about the shock army thing tho..

If its hunting season he's probably going to be on his own anyway, DeWiart was easily distracted by anything fluffy or feathered.

On the other hand its a well known fact of life that if you have have thousands of uniformed conscripts on one side and two individualist heroes who are stern or spirit, of pure intent and able to imbibe a distillery single handed will always prevail.

Look at how Captain Mallory and Private Miller took out the German guns at Navaronne, Major Smith and Lieutenant Schaeffer took out the entire garrison of Schloss Adler and what about Major Reismans team, even if there were 12 of them so its pushing the rule a bit.
