Britain invaded all but 22 countries in the world

British have invaded nine out of ten countries - so look out Luxembourg - Telegraph

Thought this would be nice to ponder about.

The remainder have been included because the British were found to have achieved some sort of military presence in the territory Ė however transitory Ė either through force, the threat of force, negotiation or payment.
Incursions by British pirates, privateers or armed explorers have also been included, provided they were operating with the approval of their government.
That definition of "invasion" is a bit of a stretch.

Military intervention?
Global police action?
Peace enforcement?
Act of violence intended to compel the opponents to fulfill the own will?
The continuation of politics by other means?

On the other hand, the Peter Sellers-Britt Ekland marriage could qualify as a hostile occupation of Sweden.

At the risk of overstating the obvious, such categorical statement simply makes no sense at all.

We had something to do with the start/post war but weren't "officially" involved in the later conflict.

An interesting list, I'll send the names of the remaining countries to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to see if they can do some mopping up.
