On the other hand, National Geographic makes excelent history documentaries, many of them of very high quality. In the same line, documentary series of great quality is for example the French "Apocalypse" on the WWII

Apocalypse: The Second World War- Shock (1940--1941) In HD Episode 3 - YouTube

Thanks for the Link and information regarding National geographic.

Just recently watched Oliver Stones Untold History on Showtime. It is pretty good, actually. There is some strong pro-soviet bias, but overall, the documentary is put together quite well and tells a good story. The second episode was about Roosevelt, Wallace, and how the democratic power bosses turned the nomination towards Truman's favor.
