Favorite historical period?

What would you is your Favorite historical period, and why? Can be any time, from the time of the dinosaurs, upto as your reading this topic.

My (two) are probably:

1700 and 1800 of Amercian history.

Why? Probably becuase I partially live in America , I love history (as if you can't tell that by my sig  :roll. And it's intersting what we have been though to get to what we are today. We started as a colony of a couple hundred, now were a couple hundred million!

My personal favorite has to the Ancient Romans. They were just so elite, I can't get over how powerful their armies were. Overall, I don't enjoy American History, but I don't have a personal favorite. I like learning about wars, though, so any war is interesting to me. I like learning about the tactics and how the battles and wars were won.

Yes, it was Roman period and I also find the Mesopotamian and Indus Valley periods intriging for the level of skill of engineering achieved 4000 years ago.

I would want to live in the 1800's...because I would have loved to watch the country grow and live through the hard times that they had to encounter and I would had loved to move from KS to CA live my family did.

I think right now is a pretty good time to be alive.

But If i had to choose my favorite historical period it would either be ancient egypt or the 1500s explorer type of history. You know, with all the exporers and prince henry the navigator.

I like studying Asian culture and history, although I bet it would have been fun as hell to run around as a Caveman and kill dinosaurs and what not.

Now we all know there were no cavemen at the time of the dinosaurs. The Flinstones isn't true, Kahn. But I have to admit that the study of prehistoric humans is rather interesting. I mean...What did they do? Were there tribes or were they just one or two people sitting around a fire and hunting? It is rather interesting, but I still stand by my opinion that the Romans are the most interesting.

The Romans were indeed a great empire, but let us not forget where they got their knowledge, Gods, and way of life from. The Greeks.
