The New World!

America was a chance for poor Europeans to escape from Britons bad govenment harsh ways & other countries poor living condictions (old world) (working for a living, having an government that does care, being screwed by the Governtment) yet America does not live up the the land of oppertunities for most,America had adopted the Britons way of living when most persons came too America to escape this old live.
Europeans and britons were treated like crap and had no chance to make life better for themselfs except for emmerigrating to America but it seems America is a hard place to make a better live! Although Australia was first deemed as a hell hole dumbing ground for convicts,Australia soon seem to be a " Land of new oppertunality country"to escape the britons/europe "like America was first deemed" but Austalia (like America) has got the same laws as the old world has, and we are living with the govenments living highly and the poor persons being screwed! I thought these two countries (America & Austrlaia where supose to keep away from old world Briton & Europe laws, but these two countries are living excatly the same as the old world! Should we all move back to the old world?

You seem to forget that Australia left many of its British characteristics behind. Australians were not subject to the hierarchical society of the motherland. Politics was not dominated by the wealthy nor was the officer corp of the army. We did inherit many British laws but that was because of the fact that we were a British colony. Oh and no, I don't think we should all move back to the old world. I don't like cold weather

Don't get me wrong! I like Australia having some british culure, hence we have so many other cultures in Australia any ways.
My point was that poor persons were being screwed by the high government in briton & old europe and average persons from briton & old europe excape from the poor and bad living condicions too the new world America and Australia and yet 100 & 100 years on the new world countries are being run by the same way as the old world: persons being screwed over.
yes, we were colised as a Britsh colony but I thought Briton did not want nothing to do with Australia apart from dumping crims on aussies shores/land,also I like hot weather too.

Government, industries, and powerful people do tend to walk all over ordinary folks given half a chance. This is hardly a modern phenomenon. It probably dates back a million years or so to the invention of 'walking' -- before that, they would have had to 'crawl', 'slither', or 'ooze' over ordinary folk. But Australia does seems a bit more civilized than the US, with a better social safety net, less of a gulf between the rich and the middle class, and a greater chance for ordinary people to become rich.

I've often wondered about this. And my Aussie friends did too. The last time I was in Oz, a pilot near Bright asked, "What is it about you Americans? Why is your country so strange?"

I thought this over, then replied, "You've got to remember. Your country was settled by convicts. Our country was settled by religious fanatics. You guys got the better bargain!"
