Looking for some fiction set in 19th century

Does anyone have recommendations for historical fiction set any time during the second half of the 19th century (say 1850s-90s) in any of the following locations: San Francisco, Hong Kong, Indochina, China, or the South Pacific?

I don't mind if the books were written recently or back in that era, just as long as they provide some fairly accurate depiction of the historical setting and have an engaging story.

To give idea of the kind of books I'm out for, I really liked Taipan by James Clavell (set a bit earlier in 1840s but still good for me), and I recently ordered Honored Dead by Robert N. Macomber which looks quite interesting.
