Publisher looking for new historical fiction authors

My name is Jonathan Wright and I work for Pen & Sword Books, one of the UK's largest military history publishers. We're interested in launching a historical fiction imprint and are currently on the look out for new authors. We're interest in all periods from ancient history to present day. Books can be about any aspect of history and do not necessarily have to contain a military theme. If anyone has written a book and would like to submit it for consideration, we'd be delighted to hear from you. We're also interested in titles that are now out of print, so if you know of any classics that you would like to see back in print, please let me know. My email address is marketing@pen-and-sword.co.uk.

Thanks.

We've been publishing since 1989 but are part of a larger media group that has been around for over 150 years. We publish around 300 titles a year on all aspects of military history, but also publish true crime, transport, local and family history.

We've been considering branching into historical fiction for some time, but have now decided to go ahead and are hoping to launch in Spring 2012.

I still need a little more time before I know enough to write a history fiction book, but I've done my share of fiction in the past. Maybe in a year or so I'll get back to you.

Sorry about that, it has been under consideration for some time but we now have the go ahead.

Is there anything you could start writing now? If you have any ideas, feel free to PM me and I can let you know which ones would be most appealing.

Thank you. I'd be more than happy to discuss any ideas you may have.

I don't suppose there's much of a market for Japanese historical fiction.

Hey, I wonder how a Japanese version of Flashman would work?

I think that may be a bit too niche for us at present, but in a few years time who knows. I think we're looking for the more mainstream topics initially to launch with.
