I could recommend several:-

Churchill by Roy Jenkins

The two volume biography of Hitler by Ian Kershaw

Stalin by Robert Service

Lenin also by Robert Service

Mao by Jung Chang and John Halliday.

Elizabeth the Queen by Alison Weir is one I enjoyed very much. Also Henry VIII, King and Court by the same author.

TR was badass. But I think they're selling him short. As far as I know, he got shot right before the speech, and improvised some of it because the bullet went through his copy.
