Hey Heidi, my diaries are usually of my holidays / adventures. Also I kept a diary of when I was sick with cancer a few years ago.
Keep writing those diaries, you never know where they could lead.
If you are interested in writing a book, maybe you could do a writing course Where are you from in Australia, another thing we have in common

I got as far as designing the jacket. Now all I need is someone to write the inside. How hard could that be????

Good thing then that I started on the outside.

Thanks for liking it.
I think your avatar is eye catching.
Would you go out with that guy on the front cover?

Re: Have Any of You Ever Written a Book?

Where do you all get your inspiration to write?

This summer I am determined to write SOMETHING, probably a local history because I have access to a lot of information.

But I'm having some trouble finding an area to start researching. All the things I know about have obviously been written about. Is the fact that I think I could write a better book good enough justification to start researching a topic already done?

The trouble with local history in a small town is that so little happens.

For instance, I thought I would research and write a history about military units from my county throughout history, yet they never actually fought in any battles or experienced anything interesting. They held communications lines or stayed at camp in the U.S.

So I guess I'm suffering from writer's block...bad. Any tips?
