It's more of a collection of historic books than a history book, but The Collected Works of Voltaire is my most recent purchase.

To bring it back to history, I also bought Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism: Full Text of 1916 Edition by Vladimir Lenin.

I'm not Leninist, but that is a great work of politics and history.

I've bought recently:
- Glossary of Military terms
- Culture of Balanta
- Sociology of Religion
- Eça de Queirós and the English culture
- The return of geopolitics
- The Diplomacy of Salazar
- Islam: wars without end

I have recently purchased ' India Since Independence ' by Bipan Chandra, Mridula Mukherjee, Aditya Mukherjee. Published by Penguin Random House India, 2008 ( revised edition ) , ISBN 9780143104094, it is a big book, 772 pages long, including index. Wide ranging in its scope, it has already crossed 150,000 copies in sale.
It has 41 chapters plus notes, a select bibliography, index and a ' note on style '.
So wish me luck please, so that I can go from end to end of this book in a reasonable time frame and will be able to give some short extracts for the benefit of all of us.

Yesterday, I received' China's India War Collision Course on the roof of the World ' by Bertil Lintner, published by Oxford University Press 2018. It is appearing to be a very good purchase. ! ISBN is978-0-19-947555-1.

In continuation of my above post no.799, I am giving here more details of the book ' China's India War ' by Bertil Lintner.
The book has 8 chapters plus ' Chronology ', Additional Reading and an Index. It is 320 pages long. Regretfully it has only two small maps and no photographs whatsoever.
The important main point that he makes is that the PRC had planned to attack India quite some time before October 1962 and the war had nothing to do with Indian actions to establish forward posts which are said to have irritated and provoked the Chinese. This is in essence in opposition to the ' Forward Posts were the Irritants ' theory put forth by Neville Maxwell and others.
