Recommendations for books about neolithic revolution

I am looking for some good books (history books, not novels) about the beginning of agriculture and the cultural developments resulting from it as well as the climate and environment that lead to it.

I found one such book (and it's at home and I don't remember the title) but I am sure there must be a few at least.

Any recommendations?

Sahlins' "Stone Age Economics" and Gowdy's "Limited Wants, Unlimited Means" are both popular and well written. I don't have a clue how accurate they are, a bit outside my area of expertise.

I'll look into those. Thanks.

Here are four possibilities, though I've posted comments about the first one so often that I'm sure people are getting tired of it.

After the Ice: a Global Human History, 20,00-5000 BC by Steven Mithen

Europe Between the Oceans, 9000 BC - 1000 AD by Barry Cunliffe

Exploring Prehistoric Europe by Chris Scarre

More Fun with Dick and Jane by Mark Gallant

The first one is the most interesting, the second may be the most authoritative, the third one is the most fun, and the last is by far the easiest to read, though upon reflection, I realize that it may not have all that much to do with the Neolithic Revolution...

Thanks.

I'll check out the first three myself and will get the fourth for my god-daughter. (I prefer Doctor Seuss and Richard Scarry myself.)
