The activity of Wolin or "Jomsborg" at its medieval height, when it was a multi-ethnic center.

For the "modern" world the theme of a serie could be 5Rs:
Rulers, rebels, reformists, reactionaries, revolutionaries.
At least from the American independence and the french revolution 1789
but probably more than a century earlier to England and its civil war and the struggle for independence of the United Provinces.

The life of Leonhard Euler, the Swiss mathematician who developed Newton and Leibnitz's calculus into the major field of mathematicsl analysis. He spent much of life in the Russian Court and continued to work after going blind. Modern infrastructure engineering exists as a result of his work. People like him tend to be forgotten by modern historians.

I'd like to see a film about the 1798 Rebellion; the time period is romantic and the events are dramatic. Plus, who doesn't like a good Ireland v. British Empire fight?

I'd like to see a film about the extraordinary life of Marie Dolores Eliza Rosanna Gilbert. I'm surprised this hasn't already been done. Mistress to King Ludwig of Bavaria, a tryst with Franz Liszt... Lola Montez danced provocatively in Paris, she went from poverty to wealth six times, and she was kicked out of several countries for being too controversial (including Russia, only a few days after arriving in the country)...

Finally, I'd like to see a Goebbels bio-pic. (Controversial, I know. Not every biographical film needs to be laudatory, they can be harsh and critical.)

I would agree with that, and one on Goering, who certainly has a very interesting life history. However I think we know that they are relegated to often low grade documentaries and will be for a very long time. So until somebody is brave enough to make a decent movie, which would need to be critical and honest, about Goebbels, we have to stay with Longerich, and for Goering, Irving.

Adding on to my previous comment, I would love a balanced Lenin movie.

There's a german movie from 1955, directed by Max Ophüls, but I've never seen it myself.

I'd like to see a film about Groucho Marx, a famous comedian who went through the Great Depression, and one about Victor Borge, another famous comedian who escaped out of Europe during WWII.

I'd like to see a film about the Battle of the Imjin River. The British were heavily outnumbered by the Chinese forces in this battle. I think there's a lot to learn from watching how people tried to cope through the hard times.

A film about Gregorious de Cespedes, the first recorded Westerner in Korea. In 1593, he was invited by Japanese Catholic general Konishi Yukinaga when Japan was invading Korea. He did missionary work for both the Japanese and the Koreans. It would be interesting to watch a Westerner's perspective on Korea and Japan during that time.

I'd like to see a film about the people who were involved with the creation of the North Korean regime. Many people will be quite surprised.

I'd like to see a film about Alice Roosevelt Longworth, Theodore Roosevelt's daughter. Like Ivanka Trump, Alice went on a diplomatic mission for her father. She went to Hawaii (a few years after Hawaii got officially annexed), the Philippines (some years after the Philippines got ceded away from Spain), Japan, Korea, and China. And like Ivanka, Alice had some controversies during her travels, although for different reasons than Ivanka.

And these films need to be authentic.

A good viking movie is long overdue. So are movies about WWII merchant merchant navies, WWII dogfights involving airships, a movie about Arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen and the Chinese admiral Zheng He.
