Biopics

The Gershwin biopic, A Rhapsody in Blue (1945) won academy awards. The Chopin biopic, A Song to Remember was released the same year.

I really loved the ending of Song Without End (1960) Lizst biopic because of the full choir rendition of Un Sospiro. What's your favorite biopic?

Why were biopic so popular? Any notable biopics?
