I havent seen this yet but i cant remember the last time i saw Johnny Vaughan serious about anything .
I didn't know he was a history buff,or is it just presenting for pay.
(Unlike Tony Robinson who genuinely loves history and you can see it in his passion.)

Well i'm finally watching this on History Channel,it's on Tuesdays at 10pm and have seen 2 now.
The fact they are finding some good relics on the Thames shore is very interesting - and the reason they can always find things is because the Thames is a fast river with tides so things are always being washed downstream at least twice a day, always bringing new relics with it - hence the Mudlarks,a very old job and an important one for history.
Apart from that they try experiments and have a laugh about historical times but in a good way,so although i dont learn anything more than i already know,it will make a lot of people interested in history who wouldnt normally have been, due to their lively and jokey presentation.
So overall i enjoy this and look forward to next Tuesdays episode (although it is on my wedding anniversary so touch and go if i can see it !!!).

Great idea for a show. I live in Canada and I would love to be able to find artifacts as easily that with so much history attached, but the hosts, come on! So annoying.

The 2nd series is as good as the first, very enjoyable and i have actually learned one or two things along the way.
I've a few more recorded to watch and am looking forward to it,it's nice to have a programme you can learn from without the 'heaviness' attached to it.
A recommended watch to all on here.

There has been a couple new shows about artifact digging between Nat Geo and History. They have raised a lot of controversy. Do you think these shows have a good or a bad influence on historical relics?

I have never understood the appeal of shows like this. They have an interesting artifact from history that reveals an exciting episode in history and instead of concentrating on the exciting story they concentrate on the anticipation of ( in the case of pawn Stars) how much money 3 fat guys can make off the deal.
