Surely it cannot be any worse then some of the drivel that has passed for entertainment recently. Haven't seen it but will watch it.

I finally watched it for the first time tonight. Overall my impression is similar to markdieneke's - some corn dialogue, but Kate Mara and some of the best fighting scenes in any ancient/medieval movie I've seen more than compensated for that.

I think its one of the best medieval based films ever made. Of course it has to reach a wider audience, so the dialogue can not be too involved but all in all, a very good film.

I would also suggest Kenneth Brannaughs version of Henry V. The action scenes were very well done.

I find this with a lot of modern movies, a lot of talk is to suite the masses, like I notice the word Hell used in 300 where as they clearly would have said Hades - I would have thought that Hades was an obvious term - maybe not...

Oh I love this film! I have always had an interest in the Baron's War. This film is about the second Baron's War.
