Good movie with Paul Giamitti ( John Adams ) as King John, Brian Cox as Baron Albany , Jamie Foreman , Kate Mara and James Purefoy as the morose Knight Templar and Derek Jacobi .
Very well done I thought . The siege of that castle ( without a moat ) took a fair bit of research and was very interesting .

or cash because it wasn't Bruce Willis with some large breasted hollywood bimbo in the lead roles so no publicity budget.

low budget, not an obvious big 'hollywood' smash and all that jazz as it were. Wasnt very well advertised either, the only people I knew who wanted to see it, well they were all medievalists

Never heard of it. Seems the marketing budget didn't include McDonald's or
Burger King 'collective' cups. I watched the trailer and frankly, it looked
predictable and over done.
