What about the ninja-horsemen at the end?

I would have figured that it would have played a bigger role in the group battles.

The Conqueror was filmed in southern Utah right after the atomic bomb tests in Nevada and radiation clouds got sent all over Nevada and Utah. Many of the cast and crew of the film later died of cancer.

Perhaps a multitude of cgi arrows was simply too expensive. It wasn't a Hollywood production, so money might have been tight.

I quite liked this one, it wouldnt surpise me if there were an awful lot of movies about him
I like that version. Was impress with the prison break. Not that I can remember why there should be one. Maybe I should look up his life story again.

There was a Hong Kong made Chinese TV drama about Genghis Khan, starring Felix Wong, that I would quite like to see. I suspect it's probably rife with wuxia elements but I tend to find this type of drama more enjoyable for it, even if it isn't *strictly* historically accurate...

I was thinking the same thing. I doubt a man who spent years bringing this movie to screen would have purposely ignored the archery. Like Longshanks said in Braveheart, "Arrows cost money. Send the infantry."

Bought this DVD today because of this thread. Look forward to watching this. Too bad the archers weren't featured in the film.
