I think there's a thread abou this, I could be mistaken.
I think it will do well its first opening weekend, since schools are out
and kids are bored or looking to do something with their friends.
I'm guessing after the first two or three weeks, it will float to the bottom
and be replaced by something else. It's the nature of movies.

No, it's totally fiction. However I'm not entirely convinced that the director, Timur Bekmambetov, doesn't actually believe in vampires, himself.

I find it hard to believe that any sane person would think it's real history but it's still stupid and disgraceful.
