She still has life in her. The Floki vs Lagertha conflict looks interesting, though you're right that Astrid's story is re fun than Lagertha's right now. Is Astrid still loyal to Lagertha or has becoming a queen caused her to become Lagertha's mortal enemy -plenty of life in that plot line too. Lagertha turning into a third wave Feminist has made her pretty unlikable though, power mad shrews are just not likable (and yes the same is true of power mad men).

Why are the Arabs cannibals? What was the point of that? What was the point of any of that Arab stuff? I am glad Hvitserk is finally getting some recognition, though, and I am interested to see how this Ivar-Heahmund relationship will work.

Euphemius was killed before the Muslims invaded Sicily. Maybe it was some Arab tradition to eat one's enemy before you took his lands or something.

Hvitserk has no real character. All the other brothers have some distinction, he doesn't.

No It's not..

And why Ziadat Allah live in a tent in the desert? When Kairouan is near the coast? All that aside i loved the scene of bishop Heahmund when he fell from his horse in the middle of the Vikings swinging his sword desperately.. Ivar and Heahmund seems to have mutual respect for each other.

What was that? Didn't Ivar die historically undefeated? And in this episode they show him not having a plan. Seems really out of character.

Ivar died in Ireland in a battle.

This battle was well-done, but Heahmund surviving and Lagertha saving him is pretty trite. We all know he and her...well do it, and this is why "the gods saved him and not her".

None of the major characters died though, so clearly this is the first round. As for Ivar, it's very poor of him not to gauge the battle. Unless, he had an additional plan, but it remains to be seen.

Spoilers...

A bee? That is how the warrior king Aethelwulf went out? And it is not known what he died of exactly historically so they could've come up with literally any death. His last two speeches were great though. So far I don't get what everyone sees in Alfred; he hasn't done anything to justify it and the only reason Ecgbert paid so much attention to him is because he was Athelstan's son, not that he was naturally great. One the things that made Alfred so great is that no one really suspected him to become king.

I think the show is taking some liberties here again. I dont know about Samis people involved in any war before but I do know they made famed bows which were never shown in the show (instead they used some native americanish weapon where they blew a projectile out of a pipe?). The Sami on other hand used these bows for hunting primarily.

(page 86 has a summary in English on the Sami bows)
