Its a shame because it used to be good, occasionally you would find a gem of a program about a topic you didn't know much about and would feel better informed afterwards.

I agree that the History Channel is a waste, but History Channel 2 and the Military Channel have presented fine programs about history. I get two Military Channels going at the same time with different programming. The problem is you have to pay for these extra channels and they are not cheap.

There is no channel now for a lot of a particular group of people's interests.

There is good reason why they call the History Channel 2 and the Military Channels Hitler Channels. But they cover all of history, not just World War II and they bring back fine British programs of the 1970s such as the World at War.

I often get upset about it too.
When I get home from school, nothing's better than a history documantary.
They have a History2 channel. It's a little more history.

I think the decline of History Channel began around 2000 or so, when the channel was almost nothing but Modern Marvels - which told you the ever exciting history of the screwdriver. Although they still showed actual history shows 2-3 times a week, mostly Hitler related stuff.

Anyways I still laugh at the South Park parody of History Channel:

I believe it is possible to make a channel for those interested in actual history.

Mix up with other science programs if history is believed to bring not enough viewers.

Interesting little factoid: About four years ago, the producers of Pawn Stars actually came to Historum to try and promote their show before it premiered on the History Channel. The Historum community was just as skeptical back then as it is now.
