George Orwell is a great writer, I liked 1984. Big Brother is Watching you.
Isn't animal farm supposed to be satire on the Russian revolution?

Isn't animal farm supposed to be satire on the Russian revolution? | Yup exactly; with all the expected roles Napoleon is Stalin and Snowball is Trotsky and Old Major is either Lenin or Marx.

'Animal Farm' is fantastic. An extraordinarily sharp and insightful caricature of the Russian Revolution. Brilliant. Of course, Orwell was himself a socialist, and his hostility was not directed against Marxism or communism, but against Leninism and Stalinism.

Here's a little trivia question about Orwell. Why did Orwell take a bullet in the neck from a Nationalist sniper? Because no Republican sniper got him first.
