Apotheon (video game)

2d side-scroller inspired by Greek (black-figure style) pottery art for the PS4 and PC. I think it's unique.

I'm a half hour into the game. So far some good quotes from Homer and Euripides. I don't think the developers just read Wikipedia but actually invested some time in the subject.

The game starts with ancient Greece in chaos, the gods have abandoned the humans, crops fail, the sun does not rise. Zeus has called the gods to Mount Olympus and it seems he is trying to destroy the human race. With the help of Hera you ascend Olympus and fight back.

I don't like side-scrollers normally, but the solid story, nice soundtrack and art style intrigued me. Worth the download for only 15$.

Yes, on Steam. One warning though before you buy it, the game requires a medium to high end PC. I know it doesn't look like it, but it does. Ignore the minimum system requirements, they are not correct.

I've played it a bit too.
It's quite an enjoyable game, for the small parts I saw of it.

Most likely just poor optimization. It will probably get patched.

I saw this on steam the other day. Looks really good, I'll probably wait for it to go on sale because I'm more excited for Attila.
