Best 20 hours of TV ever

In terms of understanding history and how the world changes, the most impactful programs I ever saw were two series put together by James Burke...
the original 10 part series Connections

And the followup series, The Day The Universe Changed.

These programs completely revolutionized the way I look at history, innovation, science and change.
It is hard to find the full 50 minute long episodes online... but if you get the chance to see them... they are amazing.

Very good stuff, Sculptingman. I had the pleasure of meeting Burke when I was a poor college student. The title of the lecture was "The Mechanisms of Change: Do Lemons Whistle?" I love how he ties up seemingly unrelated technologies.
