Kadesh a Canaanite or Syrian city

I am working on the following video and want it to be an accurate one.

Was Kadesh a Canaanite city or Syrian city during Ramsesses II reign?

Canaanite city allied to Hittites. There was no Syria (only geologically) in Rameses' time.

"Qidshu" [as Kadesh had called in Akkadian in the Amarna letters] was with Megiddo one of the main Canaanite cities opposing the conquest of that land by Thutmoses III. It's quite probably that it was under the power of a Mitanni king.

After the defeat of Megiddo there was a certain connection between Egypt and Kadesh [there are letters to confirm that Akhenaten wrote to the king of the city].
