Getting ready in the summer...

What kind of things do you usually try and do during the summer months to prepare for the coming school year?

Re: Getting ready in the summer...

I usually start thinking about how my approach to units can be better, what I didn't cover that I should have covered, etc.

I also start thinking about classroom procedures that work and those that didn't work.

Lots of self-reflection on how I can better serve my students is the way that I prepare.

Re: Getting ready in the summer...

History is in my blood, I never actually stop thinking or reading about History. That leads me to a summer with time to read more on what I covered in class, find websites the students might find interesting and like Comet said, some time to reflect on what students are coming up and how I might need to handle the few monsters within them.
