Cyrenaica is the eastern half of Libya. Egypt is part of the Arab world, and along with Arab Sudan, is part of the core of the Arab world, at the crossroads between Arabia, Cyrenaica, the Med, the red, and the levant.

Red, white and black
The eagle is of the Kurdish Muslim general Salah aldin (Saladin) as a symbol for a pan-Arabist state.

I don't know how truthful or accurate is the following claim:

I was told that the colors of the flags were based on a stanza by an Iraqi-born poet from the 1300's A.D.

White are our deeds
Black (on our enemies) are our battles/campaigns
Green are our spring/festivals
Red is our past

Ironic that a Kurdish (Iranian) symbol represents an Arab state.

well, the dude was actually ruling Egypt and was an unifier of Arab-Muslim territories, so there was a link. But its not likely he would be a fan of either the modern Arab or Kurdish nationalism.

Here's some basic information if you're interested in knowing about the Bahrain flag

Historic Flags (Bahrain)

The flag used to be plain red. A white part was added to symbolize the truce we made with Britain in the 1800s.

Now, the white part symbolizes the pearl industry (or what's left of it )
