Thomas Sankara - the Upright Man

This thread is dedicated to discussing Thomas Sankara, President of Burkina Faso from 1983 until 1987 when he was assassinated. He sought to make to make his country self-sufficient and encouraged other African nations to do the same, he embarked on a series of social programs in his country. In 1987 he was assassinated and overthrown by his then best friend and current president of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaore. For those of us who know about him please post your opinion on him, if not watch this video I'm about to put up it's pretty long but it should explain everything.
