If A's thoughts and memories are put in B, then A becomes B. If B's thoughts and memories are put in A, the B becomes A.
So if I start out as A I would choose answer 2.

Interesting, so far most people seem to think we are more out thoughts and memories than our bodies.
If uor thoughts and memories were put in another body, would it really be us. The different architecture of the new body we were in, different sensary experiences, different brain structure, would surely start to effect us and we're a new person.
Similary the new thoughts and memories in our bodies would suffer the same effects, and after a while you may after a while have two people who a pretty close to what they were originally, before the exchange.

It's also why memory/thought transference is probably not a viable pursuit, at least not until we have a much deeper understanding of the brain.

Amit Goswami might say that the consciousness would effect the new body and brain, rather than the other way around.

A into B equals C. As Toltec mentioned, the 'Mind' is a process of brain and body in conjunction. This is a fine book which illustrates that thought: | | |

The same as any other (non-viral) biological activity, the mind is a product of the addition of myriad cellular activities (neurons in this case).
Humans (including A & B of the OP) wouldn't be able to " interchange" minds & bodies any more than musical instruments would be able to " interchange" hardware & sounds.
