I never really understood political correctness. It just seems like one of those words people toss around for no reason. It's lost all meaning.

I like political correctness as a source for humour. It is nice to have a very vague line that one can cross from time to time to satisfy the inner child.

As the problem continues to grow and not die off, it remains a major problem. Much like a thread that shows all the moves of the Libyan Civil War. Until it stops being a problem, we should continue to address it as a problem.

It's only a problem if you choose to recognise it, after I read about ships being labelled as 'it' and no longer referred to as 'she' I decided not to pay any attention. A ship is a she and damn anyone who tells me otherwise.

The desire to stop people causing offence is one thing - although it should be solely down to individual discretion and is impossible anyway. But the one-sided and political way in which it's been implemented, not to mention the draconian measures used to enforce it, have made me hate political correctness with a passion.

When white people can't find work because they're too white or someone with five A*s at A-level is turned down because they're not poor enough to fill some quota then you know things have gone too far. There are too many appalling incidents to list here. I'm sure I don't need to list them, anyway, as pretty much everyone (in the UK - don't know if the same applies in America) can rattle off tonnes.

Basically, it's a massively heavy-handed and instrusive attempt to solve a problem that is either impossible to solve or never existed in the first place.

Nobody likes political correctness, but everyone gets mad when their beliefs are "disrespected".

When people "disrespect" my beliefs, it's by insulting them... NOT by practicing their religion. I've never once been offended by someone practicing their religion. But PC doesn't stop people from insulting me.. because it doesn't target that.

So you would be ok with Satanic icons and sybolism being displayed on Government buildings and in public schools?
