But you said you haven't seen the movie?

No, but I've read some reviews, and I've read about the real life person, Sabina something isn't it, and it seems she and Jung probably did have an affair, so it seems like the film probably isn't too far off the truth.

Though it is true that as Jung isn't a hero of mine it wouldn't bother me too much if the film isn't strictly accurate. But from what I have read, it doesn't sound as if the film portrays him in an unfavourable light.

I read sabina was shot by the Nazis during WW2, and her children, which is very sad.

Having an affair does not translate into spanking and other kinky stuff. But then again, what right does the film-makers have to "imagine" the sex life of historical figures?

Had there been a scene of Freud spanking his sister-in-law, I might have said that's 'balanced'.

My problem with this film is the Freudian-cult and their attack on Jung even after all these years...

On the whole I've been wise enough not to have heroes or to stick to the dead if I had to have one. I did think very highly of the critic F.R.Leavis and the socialist Tony Cliff before I met them, however, and wasn't disappointed in either. I can still do a good imitation of both.
