Some research indicates that they do, but I don't agree with it. I think most people know how to distinguish between a game and reality. The article below states that people who play violent games become desensitized to violent images, but that doesn't mean they'll act out violently in society. More than anything, I think video games can pose health risks because people just sit around.

TUESDAY, May 31 (HealthDay News) -- Violent video games trigger aggression among those who play them, according to a new University of Missouri study.
Such players showed more hostility because their brains had become less responsive, or desensitized, to violence -- a response that the researchers linked to increased aggression.
"From a psychological perspective, video games are excellent teaching tools because

no, i don't think so at all. they actually calm down our aggression and violence intend. same with heavy metal.
back in the early ages we were hunter-gatherers. the instinct to hunt, i believe, is still there. with these games we let it go to some degree without harming anyone.
thick headed oppressed politicians or rating agencies (esrb, usk, mpaa etc.) will never understand that.

I don't think Violent video games doesn't really cause behavior problems, it just makes you addicted to the game when you play more and more.

As a father of two boys who have played games their whole lives,
I would have to say 'no'.

Regardless, they can make kids more creative:

Quote:
A study of nearly 500 12-year-olds found that the more kids played video games, the more creative they were in tasks such as drawing pictures and writing stories. In contrast, use of cell phones, the Internet and computers (other than for video games) was unrelated to creativity, the study found.

For every such study you will find at least 2 that says they don't. And when you think of all the claims in the past about comic books, movies, heavy metal and other harmless entertainment causing youth violence, claims which have later been refuted, I know which side I would place my money on.
