In my opinion?
There isn't a point of life. After reading the origins of species, I concluded that all forms of life developed from a single or a few basic life forms which were the product of the coincidental presence of building blocks here on earth that are required to create life.
As such, I conclude that we human beings are a coincidental presence here on earth. Be lucky to be alive, and live the way you think is best.

I hate to tell you,
There is no point.
All bio-chemical life is a form of exotic oxidation.
From the point of view of the individual and unconsciously for that specific species, survival is an issue but is it any different from the same instinct to survive for an eagle or a mastodon?
An individual can make quite a lot out of life but how does that measure up to a gas giant like Jupiter or a super-nova? Humans accomplishments mean quite a lot to you and I but in the scheme of things they completely insignificant.

We may be here to learn how to be nice to others, but what ever the reason, I am sure I hope, at the end of the day it makes perfect sense to each individual. Before they commit suicide as I find life fascinating as well as the people that I have met in my life.
