Being an introvert and enjoying solitude are not necessarily the same thing. Sure introverts need plenty of alone time, but they can also crave social contact at times too. Speaking for myself as one.

'Cause online I'm out in Hollywood
I'm 6 foot 5 and I look damn good
I drive a Maserati
I'm a black-belt in karate
And I love a good glass of wine
It turns girls on that I'm mysterious
I tell them I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day
I could have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I'm so much cooler online
So much cooler online

I am quite introverted. I don't enjoy being in a crowd of people.

Introversion can lead to isolation. If you don't like doing many things socially then your more social friends will stop asking you to hang out and eventually you'll be cut out of the loop.

I can attest first hand that isolation and introversion aren't exactly the same thing. Even though I don't like being around a lot of people or even require that much socialization I do have my limits. But much of this depends on the individual.

I know someone who is very introverted and almost never socializes. He prefers nature. He studies nature and animals. I would go so far that he's friends with nature and animals. To him, this is a form of socialization.

However, being introspective doesn't mean an individual necessarily enjoys isolation.

I got married and now live in seclusion because I got tired of this nonsense!

I hope that is not the impression I gave with my post. I meant that in between daily life, which for the average person would involve lots of socialising and being among others, sometimes the need arises for people to engage in activities that relaxes them, usually for the purpose of mentally recharging. For extroverts this tends to be more socialising, while introverts tend to need some solitude.

Something to note about a lot of introverts is that they don't like crowds, but they like companionship. As long as they have a spouse or girl/boyfriend they're fine. But, what happens when they don't?
