Because karma doesn't exist and your luck is not determined by whether you are a good or bad person.

Bad thing happen to everyone. And it's most likely down to their individual choices, actions and even cases of poor timing. It probably seems much worse to good people.

It's pretty myopic to suggest bad things shouldn't happen to good people. Is there a system of magic to prevent this?
Do bad things not happen to bad people? Saddam, Hitler and Gadaffi would suggest otherwise.
It's important to understand that all life runs on chaos. Everything in life is down to random chance, that is the way of the world from the orbit of planets to you being born, the people you meet and the things which happen. It's possible to predict with some probability things in the short term, like weather etc. But the more time passes the more inaccurate predictions will be due to the chaotic effects of nature. Even a simple system like a swinging pendulum will go out of sync eventually.

Sometimes one has to go through learning lessons in life weather they be bad or good in order to learn and mature and not to make same errors or learn what one has to learn. Everyone goes through good periods and bad one all one can do is make the best at hands

We tend to remember the good people who die young, and the jerks who seem to live forever. In truth, it seems rather random to me. I am not a religious man, but I do leave that door open just in case. I would like to think that Lee is truly glory bound, and living in Heaven right now.

There doesn't seem to be much reason if we take the long view.
The dinosaurs were around for hundreds of millions of years, far, far longer than we've been around. Then they were splatted out by an asteroid and obliterated.
What did they achieve?
Neanderthals were around in Europe for circa 150,000 years, also far longer than we've been around. What was their point?
The Roman Empire came and held the world in awe, then it too declined and fell. What was that about? Why did we have a few hundred years of barbarism in the space of civilisation? What was the point of WW1?
All this suggests that we have absolutely no idea what we're doing, we never did.
