First of all Capitalism is not based on the work ethic. It is based on a gambler's ethic. Working people ( and this includes inventors) are not rewarded as much as those that bet that the products produced will be profitable. Christianity is a socialist philosophy. My question is this, " can a person be a Capitalist and a Christian? Note that I am not ( in this thread at least) against Christianity or Capitalism. I am asking if the two philosophies are compatable. Also, I am totaly convinced that Jesus was a liberal!

Christianity is a socialist philosophy? Hmmmmmmm. Apparently, the Christians are not all of one mind in this regard.

Both responses are unrelated to what I said.
Or are you saying that profit is a Christian concept? Perhaps you did not understand what I said. The issue here is not if Christianity is correct or if capitalism is correct. My point is rather obvious, profit is not related to christianity. Jim Jones is only an amature's attemp at an emotional rebuttal.

Lucius...
I admire your intellect. But what you said makes no sense. Are you saying that if many people claim an absurd hypothisis, than it can claim legitmacy?

But, as I said, perhaps the Christians are not all of one mind in this regard. I don't know all the Christians.

While it is certainly true that Christians don't hate wisdom, neither does anyone else.
Are you talking about the do-gooder thing?

No! my question is rather elementary. I have not said that Christianity is correct or not. I am only curious why you think that it postulates nothing. In other words why do you say that it is not a philosophy?
