If the probability of getting any historical implication from such an abstract theological question is still so close to zero, I don't think so.

Here is the last word on the topic.

Every time a coin is flipped the probability of heads or tails is always 50/50.
If six heads in a row come up... then the possibility of the next throw being a tail is more nearly certain. If an event is contingent on past performance then we are talking about possibility and not probability. But don't feel bad I have seen textbooks making this same grammatical mistake.

p.s. Chill out guys. This thread probably has a strong possibility of being closed.

scholar and sylla1,

Since you mutually withdrew your ad hominem attacks, I have deleted those posts in an attempt to keep this thread on track. If anything like that happens again, it's ejections for both of you.

I'm not sure which was the intended difference in mathematical terms between the concepts of "probability" and "possibility" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Possibility_theory above; please elaborate.

In any case, that explanation seems to essentially still be the Gambler's fallacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy.
Far as I can tell, half the fair coins will fall on each side even in your example (i.e. after six or n... heads in a row).

(In other words, Poser was right)

THANK, YOU! For breaking this down so everyone could understand it better.

P.S. Chilling out

Nuff' said.

P.S.: This is called the "Gambler's fallacy" for a reason; it is one of the main explanations for the success of the Casinos.

Therefore, it should better no be forgetten when in Las Vegas or Atlantic City...

There isn't a great deal of distinction between the two words. Nor does it go against anything I, Rasta, or Lord_of_Gauda stated.
