A small precision: it was not Tito. Yugoslavia was created before Tito, without his implication.

And a personal thought: it became a failure after Tito's death

True, it wasn't created by Tito, but it also wasn't working well before Tito as well. The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was a failure and it went down as a failure. Just look at the events during the war in April 1941, there's a lot of interesting stuff and the rest of ww2 speaks for itself too. Out of ww2 a new Yugoslavia was born on new concepts, going a different path but even that eventually failed.

With the exception of Bulgaria, we were the ones that had the most in common and it failed bigtime. Now one would want to make it even broader, even more diverse and hope for greater success? This is like speaking of communist America or vegan hamburgers with unicorn meat. The countries in the Balkans can't stand each other. Also, what economy would sustain the whole thing? We're bad off enough, this would make things only worse. Thank you very much, but should this happen, I'll move abroad.

They tried it before. Does anyone remember Yugoslavia? It was an economic power that dominated the Balkans going as far a building a good cheap automobiles for the masses. It united several nations and people into one whole. It failed. When it failed, there was a genocide and Yugoslavia ceased to exist.

Why do you think that Europe will undergo that process eventually? No that is not going to be the distiny of it. The only nation in Europe that may be absorbed by its adjacent jurisdiction may pertain most possibly on the possible eventually break away from United Kingdom by Northern Ireland which will never be bloody. The Basque are so quite in Spain when compared to their activities in the 80's. But that was the time when technology was so crude and it was still possible to hide things becaus technology is not the swit like it is today. No drones can detect their activities and computers were not yet that effective. But now, I really doubt of any possible break away. Islamic terrorism is the nemesis of the civilization.

The article mainly addresses to the one major drive that united them: breaking away from the Ottoman rule. And when they did, they started slaughtering and invading one another. Now that the Ottoman hegemony's gone, i do not see any concrete reason for unification - other than a romantic one.
