What would the Roman Army have become?

So we know the Roman Army evolved. But my question is:

If the Roman Empire had survived full strength (I honestly don't care how. Heck pink unicorns could have magically destroyed the enemies for all I care) up to the technology of the Early gunpowder era, it's army would likely have resembled what nation at this time? How about the Napoleonic era technology?

I know you cannot truly answer this with confidence, but can you try as best as possible please

Thank you

The Romans liked to borrow from others so as technology got more advanced they would have taken what techniques and technologies and adapted.
The Roman Legion would have given way to other formations, especially when gunpowder was developed.

The only way this scenario would be possible is a Roman defeat of the Turks at the last siege of Constantinople. Perhaps the emperor hired foreign mercenaries, took out a loan from the Vatican or formed alliances with powerful European kings like the Spanish or Russians resulting in the destruction of the Turkish army and death of the sultan. With the Ottoman empire in disarray the Romans could retake lost territories using modern European technology like muskets to supplement their own flamethrowers. The Romans' alliance with the Spanish would eventually bring them into conflict with the French and possibly the English. This would postpone the Renaissance as the Romans jealously hoarded their Greek books, meaning only scholars from nations allied to them would have access to these vital manuscripts.
