Thx Mohammed for the article. The on I like is the one with Visit Libya! Otherwise, I think next December we may want to have a look on the predictions and see what we got right and wrong; assuming we will survive 21 December

I fearlessly forecast that at least some of us will still be here come 2013, that some things will get better and some worse. Weather wise, an extended period of cold weather lasting for a couple months, will be followed by improving conditions for several months; beyond that forecasting breaks down. Policy makers will unclear as to how to handle the economy and there will be significant disagreement, even among experts.

I predict 2012 will be followed by 2013.

Also, I am accepting donations from all persons who believe the world will end.

-Doomday: 2012 will be rescheduled to some other future date because of "misinterpretations"

-Europeans will grow a suspicious of the EU, especially Germany who will be tired of pulling everyone's weight.

-Bust for the oil industry (it ether booms or busts, too many think it'll boom so I'm betting against it to cover all my bases, I'd love to have cheap gas again)

-Republicans will be too busy squabbling, Obama will win election.

-Continued economic growth, even if it's only minor.

-Cost of business in China will skyrocket, too many people will invest in China thinking they're a safe bet. Plus indifference in production/cost between China and the US will hurt China.

Over all I think we're going in the right direction, the past few years have probably been a short pause in between the good past decades.

Yes, the sun will rise... When I proposed this year end thread, I did not think that the world would end but I do think big changes, some of them, surprises, are in the works.

When thinking about next year, you might ask yourself about the changes that have occurred since Jan, 1st, 2011?

Was there a similar thread on Historum for 2011?

Something, maybe the turmoil involving Iran, will cause a massive population reduction of our species. By 2013 the world will be completely different and we will being rebuilding a new society in which we will rapidly evolve, as opposed to the de-evolving we have been doing for the most part of 6000 years.
